Comment on designs of love and loss in ‘A Quoi Bon Dire'

A sense of take pleasure in and reduction is pictured throughout the poem ‘A Quoi Bon Dire'. The narrator of the composition has been segregated from her lover for a long time. However , irrespective of her damage, their like lives on.

At the beginning of the composition, the narrator states that " seventeen years” include passed as she previous saw her lover. A sense of loss is definitely soon evoked as we have a dim memory space of reading " something which sounded like goodbye” via all those yrs ago. It would appear that the narrator will not accept that her lover is " dead” while " every person thinks” that he is removed " Although I”. Although the recollection of the " goodbye” can be vague and uncertain, there exists a much more manly and confident tone as the first stanza comes to a detailed. The personal ‘I', which is separate from " everybody” by the end of this stanza reveals the narrator's distinct view that her mate is not really dead, in least in her mind and her memory. The uneven framework, which is extended throughout the poem, could stand for the hazy memories, while using regular rhyme scheme which represents the consistency of the narrator's love.

Because the poem continues the narrator admits that your woman must " say Good-bye too” because she expands " firm and cold” with age. Although the narrator is now growing " old”, the sculpt in this stanza is not in any way morbid. This is because " everyone sees” her era " But you”. The repeated being of the initially stanza as well as the second stanza with, " But I” and " But you”, emphasises how special the love between these two people was previously. It shows that their appreciate is different for all of the other people who are grouped together as " everyone”. Furthermore, because the loss of this like happened numerous years ago, the narrator can remember their relationship since it once was – young and carefree. Whilst losing her enthusiast is indeed unfortunate, there is a great overtone while the relationship may remain permanently young. He will never find her grow old.
