There is always a conflict between your individual's prefer to belong and his/her obligation to themselves. To what degree is this accurate of the texts you have analyzed in Belonging?
Belonging is an in-born factor in human nature which is embedded in everybody. The impression of belonging or certainly not belonging can have a significant effect on a person's existence, their character and their location in society. A person may find a strong sense of belonging through representations of symbolic areas, relationships or events. Through these different facets which produce a sense of belonging, a powerful individual personality can also be produced. Peter Skrzynecki explores these kinds of concepts in the poem " Feliks SkrzyneckiвЂќ and gives the idea that right now there does not have always to be a conflict between could be desire to belong and their duty to themselves. In this poem, Skrzynecki illustrates how Feliks' bond together with his home country of Poland and his desire to always belong presently there, play a defining function in shaping his individual individual personality in his fresh country, Sydney. He maintained his person identity throughout the many activities in his life and it is this kind of strong feeling of personal awareness that fuelled the desire to further strengthen his sense of belonging with Poland, as opposed to Australia. Through this action, Skrzynecki shows how Feliks does not truly feel obliged to modify his identity in order to experience a part of or perhaps fit into his new society. He does not have a distinct wish to belong to his new existence, rather this individual chooses to surround him self with what will remind him of Poland вЂ“ his country in this new environment, hence eliminating the conflict from the individual's work to themselves and their prefer to belong. Along with this, Skrzynecki is also able to show how his father's conduct has affected him by making it difficult for Skrzynecki to build up his individual sense of belonging nationwide.
