Both of these are non-fiction short testimonies that easily relate to someone as well. Both stories triggered a personal effect as the writer applied certain ways to detail the idea, theme, and purpose in back of each of the writings. It is also crucial to know the big difference between a fiction and non-fiction history. The author has to intrigue the reader's creativeness to make the tale interesting. Reactions and Strategies

Salvation

Solution was written by Langston Hughes in 1940. This is a non-fictional history based on a childhood connection with the writers. Religion was apparently dominant in Hughes childhood great family seemed to live simply by God's expression. Religion was so important to his family that he previously to make a hard decision in either resting to his family or perhaps letting down his Master. The article writer described the afternoon he was to look for Jesus as a time to " bring the small lambs for the fold” (Hughes, 1940. L. 351). The storyline was moving, intriguing, and heartfelt. The writer made the story believable by giving reveal setting and theme. The writer likewise used personal feelings and emotions more to make this kind of story believable. Who Will Light Incense When ever Mothers Absent?

This short story was written by Claire Lam in 2003. I used to be also a nonfictional story based on an experience in Lam's adult years. Lam's family had been immigrates coming from Vietnam plus the setting is in his single mother's 70th birthday. Lam overheard his mom asking her sister who would continue the tradition of lighting the incense and praying towards the ancestors to get protection. The girl seemed to be incredibly concerned as was her sister that tradition could cease when they passed away. This kind of story was an eye-opener to what one may feel when tradition has been left towards the elders and now needs to be passed down to the young generations. That shows that once one is moved out with their culture they could try to hold on and train their fresh, but you cannot find any guarantee that the young will appreciate the principles. One line indicated how the article writer new his mothers soreness, " fatality never much less weighs hefty on her soul” (Lam, 20003. P. 1077). The article writer used personal feelings and an insight into past and future to guide the reader into a better comprehension of the situation. Personal Relation and Intended Functions

Salvation regains childhood memories of personal experiences with church and family. Memories of summer by vocation holy book school camp with friends and the lessons taught by the pastors. As well, movies regarding African Americans and chapel in the early on and mid 1900's had been thought of in this reading. The goal of this brief story was geared toward understanding the importance of Goodness in the writer's life and family. The writer as well displays the emotional a reaction to his decision to lay about finding Jesus. That will Light Incense When Mothers Gone?, was a reminder of your military background involved with contact with many cultures and faith based diversities. Just about every cultures features it's beliefs and rules. When many generations of any particular culture migrate to America, some of the people values will probably be lost. The mother was upset while using son many times as he grew into a north american cowboy, which the Vietnamese recognized as being self-centered and a rebel (Lam, 2003).
