Types of Abuse

With regards to this assignment, the intention is to identify the four theoretical types of child abuse. The some models i will be looking at are; the medical model of abuse, sociological model of misuse, psychological model of abuse and the feminist type of abuse. Let me also be taking a look at the facets of the theories that are similar or diverse. To conclude I actually also want to evaluate the 4 theoretical models of abuse simply by identifying the advantages and disadvantages. The Medical Type of abuse sees the abuse as a health problem or a disease needing a remedy. Kempe and Kempe were the ideas for this theory when they explained it because battered kid syndrome. The battered child syndrome can be described as disease through which children are actually abused. The theory of Kempe and Kempe was correlated by Bowlby's findings about the connection theory. " Bowlby assumed that the earliest bonds formed by children with their caregivers have a significant impact that continues through life. ” (www.psychology.about.com, 01. 03. 2011). This quote tells us that Bowlby assumed that children, who did not form a bond with the mother inside the first 3 years of their your life, would have challenges in after life binding with people and trusting people. Therefore this kind of tells us that it can be very important that you comfort and reassure the child after they feel scared or endangered. This will for that reason prevent the kid from abusing other kids and young adults. Babies communicate through crying which could reveal hunger, soreness, tiredness and then for attention. It is crucial that you respond to these requirements as this will help to your child to get attached with you. The benefit of the medical model is that parents who have abused youngsters can get treatment to help with bonding using their child. Everyone these days as Bowlby believed that attachment is essential in the first three years of life. In case the child is definitely attached to their caregiver they are less likely to abuse. However the disadvantage of this model is that in case the child was already abused it will probably be a discovered behaviour. Hence the child will abuse various other children as they will assume that it is okay to misuse. Another downside is that when the child is removed to places of safety it is going to cause splitting up anxiety. Which means child is likely to misuse other people just for this reason. Sociological model of misuse is when a child is definitely abused as a result of abusers interpersonal environment for example; job reduction, low cash flow, poor casing, poor health and much more. Parents with a low income often face a lot of stress for that reason are likely to maltreatment their children. Some parents simply cannot cope with pressure therefore acquire frustrated with the children. If perhaps parents have got a high income they will be more confident and have higher self-esteem. In order a result it will have less probability of abuse. Nevertheless if they have a low cash flow they will be burned out and acquire frustrated using their children and abuse all of them. If parents have grown in an environment that considers abuse as a ‘norm' are more likely to abuse their children. " Child mistreatment is considered a sociological event because it is not an innate behavioural pattern to get human beings to adhere to. It, typically, is a discovered behaviour. ” (Havelin, T. (2000) Child Abuse " Why do my parents struck me? ” Pg15). This kind of tells us that parents who've been abused while children are very likely to abuse their own children. Therefore this will end up being discussed while the cycle of maltreatment. I firmly believe that this pattern can be wrong since people who have recently been abused will most likely feel that, abusing their own children is incorrect because of how it manufactured them feel. I do not think anyone will need their children to undergo what they had been through. Sociological theories observed abusers while normal individuals with extreme conditions like economical stress, which will compelled those to abuse youngsters and young people. The advantage of a sociological model of abuse is definitely...
