Andrew Karmen defined victimology as " The scientific study of victimization, including the interactions between subjects and offenders, the relationships between victims and the felony justice program -- that is, the police and courts, and corrections representatives -- as well as the connections among victims and also other societal teams and corporations, such as the press, businesses, and social motions. " (Victimology Theory, 2003) Victimology is actually a branch of criminology.
